THE

STORY
My name is Lorenzo. I started VERDEBLEU in 2020 when I was a17 year old student, during the first Coronavirus lockdown, in the first year of my A levels.
I have been inspired by my sister who is the founder of BEES of BRITAIN.
I want to do my part to fight climate change by helping save the flora and fauna that live in rainforests all over the world.
VERDEBLEU is currently supporting the Rainforest Trust UK by donating 5% of profits.
I was born in Hampshire and have lived here all my life. I went to a school that encouraged immersion in nature and outdoor work. As part of our curriculum we were involved in the cycle of nature and learned beekeeping, hedge laying and tree planting, lambing, foraging and coppicing. One of the subjects I studied for GCSE was Global Awareness, which included exploring issues such as climate change and global warming. My generation is acutely aware of climate change and it is a major concern for us.
VERDEBLEU is a Social Enterprise, our mission is to inform about the importance of protecting, preserving and re-foresting tropical rainforests, how important they are to planet earth and the part they play in mitigating climate change and highlight and support the possible solutions.

We do not use toxic chemicals or ingredients. We source from the very best suppliers, who are ethical and can trace the provenance of every batch of raw materials. We only buy raw materials that are responsibly produced. We do not use any ingredients derived from plants on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) threatened species (growing in the identified countries) list of Critically Endangered, Endangered, and Vulnerable or that are protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
We keep our packaging to a minimum, we do not use boxes or leaflets.14% of deforestation is due to the need for pulp to make paper goods.
We actively think about contributing to a circular economy – where we not only use less packaging but choose high quality, attractive packaging that can be reused or recycled. We only use high percentage Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR), fully reclaimable and reprocessable materials such as Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottles and jars with a low carbon footprint, for example PET is up to 85% lighter than glass. This helps cut transportation costs, in-turn lowering CO2 emissions. Our labels are made of polyester and are recyclable. Aluminium and glass are 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without loss in quality or purity. Any outer packaging is required for for hygiene and protection and is made of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) that is recyclable as well.
